Tom Jackson, a graduate of Bedford Road Collegiate in Saskatoon, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan (B.A., 1951; M.D., 1958) in 1947.

He was the first student-athlete at the U of S to receive two major athletic awards - one for the period of 1947-50 and the other for 1955-57.

In five years with the fencing team, Tom lost only one bout. He also competed on the tennis team for five years.
