Darcey Busse, a graduate of Central High School in Moose Jaw, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan in 1979.

Darcey was a member of the Huskies volleyball team for five years. He was selected to the Canada West conference all-star team all five years and was named a Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union All-Canadian twice, in 1984 and 1986.

He was named CIAU men's volleyball player of the year in 1984 and 1986.

In all five seasons with the Huskies, the team twice captured the conference championship in 1980 and 1985.

While a student at the University of Saskatchewan, Darcey was a member of the Canadian junior and senior national volleyball teams.

In 1986, he was awarded the E. Kent Phillips Trophy as male athlete of the year at the U of S.

Darcey was inducted into the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame in 2009. He passed away in May 2008.
