Sheila (Brennan) Beckie, a graduate of Marian High School in Regina, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan in 1977.

She was a member of the Huskiette basketball team for five years and served as co-cptain for three seasons.

Sheila, a guard, was selected to the Canada West conference all-star team five consecutive years and was a CIAU All-Canadian in 1982.

At the conclusion of her career, she was second all-time on the Huskiettesin conference scoring in 1,028 points.

While a student at the University of Saskatchewan she was a member of Canada's national junior basketball team for three years.

In 1980 and 1982, Sheila was awarded the Bob Stayner Trophy as the outstanding female athlete in a tournament sport at the U of S. She received the Valerie Girsberger Trophy in 1981 for leadership, sportsmanship, athletics and academics.

She went on to coach the University of Regina Cougars women's basetkball team from 1982-89.
