Jim Scissons, a graduate of St. Paul's High School in Saskatoon, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan in 1959.

He was a member of the University golf team for five years, winning the WCIAU championship in 1962-63 and 1964-65. He had the best score at the 1964-65 championship.

While at student at the U of S, Jim was a member of the Saskatchewan team which won the 1964 Willingdon Cup team event at the Canadian men's amateur golf championship.

Jim was a forward on the Huskies hockey team for three seasons, 1962-63 to 1964-65.

He was inducted into the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame in 1986 and the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in 1987.
