Stacey (Singler) Cooke, a graduate of Walter Murray Collegiate, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan (B. Sc - PE, 1996) in 1987.
Stacey was in the starting lineup from her first match with the Huskiette women's volleyball team and continued as the club's number one setter for five consecutive seasons, through to 1991-92.
She was named a first team all-star in the Canada West conference three times - 1989-90, 1990-91 and 1991-92 - and was also a CIAU All-Canadian each of those three years.
The Huskiettes made it to the national championships in three of her seasons, finishing seventh in 1989, fifth in 1991 and second in 1992. Saskatchewan was first in the conference for her final two years.
While attending the U of S, Stacey was named to the Canadian national junior team for the 1989 world junior championship in Peru and competed at the 1991 Summer Universiade in Sheffield, England, placing 16th.
She joined the national senior team for the summer in 1992.
Stacey was awarded the Ethel Catherwood Trophy as female athlete of the Year in 1990-91.
