After wrapping up an impressive wrestling career with the Huskies, Gil Wist began looking for ways to improve the program. Gil has spent more than 30 years supporting the Huskie wrestling program acting as a liaison between the program and the Saskatchewan Amateur Wrestling Association.

Wist has been instrumental in the hiring and mentoring of numerous Huskie coaches including current head coach Daniel Olver. Gil has also played a large role in working to secure funding for the hosting of the annual Huskie Open and for Canada West and CIS Championship events.

Wis continues to dedicate his time to improving the Huskie wrestling program in addition to helping promote and support wrestling programs across the province.
