Louis Christ, a graduate of Evan Hardy Collegiate in Saskatoon, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan in 1977.

He was a member of the Huskies cross country and track & field teams for five years.

Louis won six gold, five silver and two bronze medals in Canada West conference distance events. In 1981, he won the 1,500 metres at the CIAU championship and anchored the Huskies' medley relay team that won gold. He was a member of two Huskies cross country teams that won the conference championship.

While a student at the University of Saskatchewan, Louis represented Saskatchewan and Canada at national and international events.

In 1980, he was awarded the Howard Nixon Trophy as the University's outstanding male athlete in a tournament sport. He won the Rusty McDonald Cup in 1982 for sportsmanship, leadership, athletics and academics.

Louis was inducted into the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
