Edward Lukowich, a graduate from high school in Hafford, Saskatchewan, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan (B. Ed., 1969; B.A.P.E., 1972) in 1965.

Prior to university, Ed established his name in curling by winning the Saskatchewan high school championship three times and the Canadian high school championship in 1962.

While at the U of S, Ed played on three WCIAU championship rinks. He was third on his brother Michael's rinks in 1965 and 1966 and moved up to skip on the 1968 title-winning team.

Ed went on to represent Alberta at the Brier five times, winning the title in 1978 and 1986, won the Silver Broom as world champion in 1986 and was co-founder of the World Curling Tour.
