University of Saskatchewan Athletics

Grant Gudmundson, a graduate of Biggar High School, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan in 1977.

He played on the Huskies volleyball team for five years. While a member of the team, the Huskies twice won the Canada West conference championship and in 1978-79 won the CIAU title.

Grant was twice selected to the conference all-star team at setter and was named to the tournament all-star team at nationals in 1979 and 1980.

In 1980, he was awarded the E. Kent Phillips Trophy as male athlete of the year at the University.

He later served as an assistant coach with the Huskiette women's volleyball team for three years.
