The second-longest serving athletic director, Ross Wilson left a mark on Huskie Athletics history first as an athlete, then coach and finally athletic director.

Ross’s history with Huskie Athletics began in 1966 as a junior basketball player and continued as a soccer player. In 1993, Ross became the head coach of the women’s soccer program and led the team to their first-ever .500 season and first-ever all-stars and all-Canadians.

He served as athletic director from 1991 to 2006 and over saw the Huskies win 11 national championships and 33 Canada West titles. He led construction and renovation projects for the PAC and Griffiths Stadium, increased scholarship dollars, led hosting bids for nine national championships and was a member of numerous local, Canada West and national committees.

Since retiring, Ross has still remained actively involved with the Women’s Basketball Raise A Paw brunch, as well as basketball convenor and Canada West scheduler. In 2008, Ross won the highest honour delivered by U SPORTS - the Austin Matthews Award for Outstanding Contribution to university sport.
