Norm Spice, a graduate of Yorkton Collegiate, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan (B. E., 1950) in 1945.

He was a rugged defenceman on the Huskies hockey team for four years and played halfback and linebacker on the football team for three years.

Norm was awarded the prestigious Rusty McDonald Cup in 1950 for leadership, sportsmanship, athletics and academics among U of S male athletes.

In addition to competing in sports, Spice served on the Men's Athletic Board.
