David Pickett (B.S.P.E., 1976) was a graduate of Campion Collegiate in Regina.

He joined the Huskies football team in 1970 after leading the Saskatoon Hilltops to national junior titles in 1968 and 1969. He played on the Huskies basketball team while a member of the Hilltops.

Dave capped an oustanding three year run with the Huskies in 1973 when he was selected as the all-star quarterback in the WIFL and won the Hec Crighton Trophy as the most outstanding player in Canadian University football. Dave passed for 2,251 yards in the 1973 season, a mark which stood for 10 years as the Canadian record. The Huskies tied for first place in the conference that year.

Dave was later an assistant coach with the Huskie football team.
