Conrad Fitz-Gerald, a graduate of Nutana Collegiate in Saskatoon, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan (B.A., 1947; B.Ed, 1948) in 1942.

He was an oustanding shooter on the Huskies basketball team for five seasons - serving as captain in 1944 - played end on the football team for three seasons and competed in track & field, where he excelled in the 100-yard dash, broad jump and high jump.

He received a Major Athletic Award in 1944-45 for competing on eight intervarsity teams.

In 1944, Conrad was awarded the Rusty McDonald Cup for sportsmanship, leadership and athletic ability during his undergraduate years.

In addition to competing, Conrad coached the Huskiette basketball team in 1944-45 and the Huskies junior basketball team in 1945-46.
