The Huskiettes won their third consecutive CIAU Championship, beating the Manitoba Bisonettes 3-1 (15-8, 15-8, 12-15, 15-6) at teh University of Victoria. Saskatchewan finished the season with a 26-1 record.
Saskatchewan upset the top-ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees, featuring several national team members, 3-0 in the preliminary round and kept on rolling.
Saskatchewan power hitter Gisele Rongve, a graduate of Holy Cross High School, was named the MVP of the championship and setter Melanie Sanford was selected to the all-star team.
The 1980-81 Huskiettes have been inducted into both the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame and the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame.
