Nancy Brentnell, a graduate of Swift Current High School, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan in 1975.
She was a member of the Huskiettes basketball team for five years, serving as co-captain for one season.
Nancy was selected to the Canada West conference all-star team three times. At the conclusion of her career, she was first all-time on the Huskiettes conference scoring list with 1,408 points, a record she held for 25 years until it was broken by Sarah Crooks in 2006.
While a student at the University of Saskatchewan, she was a member of the Canadian women's softball team for five years and played on the Saskatoon Harmony Centres team that won the Canadian senior women's softball championship in 1978 and 1981.
In 1977, Nancy was awarded the Valerie Girsberger Trophy for sportsmanship, leadership, athletics and academics.
