Pat Jackson, a graduate of the University of Alberta, coached women's basketball at the University of Saskatchewan for 21 years, with the Saskatchewan Pupettes from 1961 to 1964 and the Saskatchewan Huskiettes from 1964 to 1985.
In 1973, she was named the Athletic Director at the U of S, at the time, she was the only woman AD at a major North American university. In 1978, she became an assistant dean in the College of Physical Education.
She was also one of the founders of the Canadian Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Union (CWIAU), which later joined with teh Canadian Intercollegiate Athletic Union.
While at the U of S, she was named head coach of the Canadian national women's basketball team in 1968. In her four years with the program, she introduced the first centralized training camp for the national team.
In 1971, she coached the Saskatchewan women's basketball team to a bronze medal at the Canada Winter Games in Saskatoon.
