SASKATOON – The University of Saskatchewan Huskies men's hockey team concludes their four-game homestand this weekend when they play host to the Mount Royal Cougars at Merlis Belsher Place.
Â
The Huskies enter the matchup on a six-game winning streak and have been dominant on home-ice this season, with a 10-1-0 record in their new arena. Saskatchewan will look to continue their winning ways this weekend, as they continue their quest towards locking up first place in the Canada West.
Â
The Cougars, who have clinched their sixth consecutive postseason appearance, will enter the Bridge City looking to snap a four-game losing skid after the club fell in the annual Crowchild Classic on Tuesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary. Mount Royal holds a two-point advantage over UBC in the fight for a home playoff date and will be looking to cushion their lead with only four regular-season games remaining.
Â
The Huskies picked up two close victories against the Cougars during their clash in Calgary in November, with 3-2 and 4-2 wins. Saskatchewan has won nine consecutive games and hold a 21-8 advantage all-time against Mount Royal.
