Huskie Men’s Hockey Adds Former AHL and ECHL Forward Jaydon Dureau

SASKATOON, Sask. - The University of Saskatchewan Huskie Men's Hockey team and head coach Brandin Cote announced today the signing of former AHL and ECHL winger Jaydon Dureau.

"Jaydon brings a dynamic offensive presence and a proven ability to influence the game every time he touches the puck," said Cote. "His high‑end scoring and playmaking ability have been evident at every level, and his commitment to advancing his academic goals while continuing to elevate his game on the ice reflects his drive and professionalism. We are proud to welcome another Saskatchewan product back home and look forward to the significant impact he will make within our program."

"My decision [to sign with the Huskies] came when I wanted to further pursue my academics and still be able to play at the highest level, with the reputation that USask has it was almost a no brainer to come here," said Dureau. "[I am] extremely excited [to play in Saskatachewan again]! I get to play in my home province and be back in the prairies. I have lots of family in this area and surrounding area so I'm really excited to be able to have my family watch me play live again.

A 6-foot forward from White City, Saskatchewan, Dureau joins the reigning Canada West Champions from the ECHL's Norfolk Admirals where he appeared in 54 games during the 2025-26 regular season and recorded 47 points (18 goals, 29 assists).

Prior to the 2025-26 season the 25-year-old appeared in 36 goals with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch, affiliate to the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, over parts of five seasons from 2020 to 2025 and registered three goals and seven points. Dureau also recorded 29 goals and 73 points in 103 ECHL contests with the Orlando Solar Bears after joining the club in 2022.

A fifth-round pick (147th overall) in the 2020 NHL draft to the Tampa Bay Lightning, he spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League prior to turning pro with the Portland Winterhawks. Appearing in 207 games, he finished his major junior career with 65 goals and 196 points while owning a +84 rating.

Dureau's signing marks the sixth of the 2026 offseason for Cote and the Huskies, whose 2026 recruiting class now includes Jaeden Mercier, Tyson Yaremko, Tyler Parr, Logan McCutcheon, and Morgan Tastad.
