Roddy Ross Named U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian Goaltender

OTTAWA, Ont. - Wednesday morning (Mar. 19), University of Saskatchewan (USask) Huskie goaltender, Roddy Ross became the 40th member of the Huskie men's hockey team in program history to earn All-Canadian honours at the U SPORTS All-Canadian Breakfast.

Ross becomes the first Huskie to be named a U SPORTS All-Canadian since former Saskatchewan defenceman Connor Hobbs was named a First Team All-Canadian in 2022-23.

His national recognition comes following a spectacular 2024-25 campaign in which the Meadow Lake product let Canada West in both save percentage (.928) and goals against average (1.99). Starting 14 regular season games, Ross earned a record of 10-4-0 while recording one shutout to help the Dogs to the top of the Canada West standings and an opening round bye in the conference playoffs. 

During the regular season, Ross showcased his ability to provide the Dogs with a steady and reliable presence between the pipes. His season was highlighted by a seven game winning streak from November 29 to January 31, a crucial stretch for the Dogs as the surged up the conference standings. In arguably his best game of the regular season, Ross earned a 4-1 win at home against the Alberta Golden Bears, setting up Saskatchewan to surpass their Alberta rivals for the top spot in the Canada West East Division.

He continued to elevate his game in the postseason, starting four games including all three of the Huskies' 2-1 Canada West Final series win over the Mount Royal Cougars. Leading Saskatchewan to a 12th conference title, Ross recorded a shutout in game three of the championship final, stopping 30 shots before raising the Dr. W. D. Hardy Trophy.
