Gage Grassick picked up the Nan Copp trophy after a season for the ages. The fourth-year point guard from Prince Albert posted one of the best statistical performances in Canada West history, as she led the country in assists per game (6.0), three-point field goals (58) and three-point field goal percentage (41.4 percent). The pharmacy major also finished 10th in the country in scoring with 18.4 points per game. The season was highlighted by a 31-point performance in last week's conference championship, in which Grassick took over for the Huskies, leading the team to a 10th Canada West title in program history. Her ability to impact the game at both ends of the floor has been the driving force behind her Huskies going 25-2 on the year, claiming the Canada West Championship, and earning the top seed in the 2025 U SPORTS Final 8.

Grassick joins Sarah Crooks as the only Huskies to be named the top player in the nation, with Crooks having claimed the award twice in 2005-06 and 2006-07.

"The difference between great players and those that are truly exceptional is that the truly exceptional ones make their teammates better," said Huskie head coach Lisa Thomaidis. "This quote exemplifies what Gage has done for our team this season. Gage has had one of the best all-round seasons in history. Filling the stats sheet on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball are outstanding, but her full impact is most felt through her leadership of our team on and off the court. She is a positive, encouraging, and motivating leader who has done an incredible job of of leading our team while balancing the demands of being in Pharmacy."

Grassick and the Huskies return to action Thursday night (Mar. 12) for the U SPORTS Quarter-Finals, where they will take on the Alberta Pandas at War Memorial Gymnasium.
