Huskies Claim FISU America 3x3 Silver Following Loss to Carleton in All-Canadian Title Game

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras - In the final game of the FISU America 3x3 Basketball Championship, the University of Saskatchewan Huskies claimed silver, falling 21-15 to the Carleton Ravens in an all-Canadian title game that brought a familiar U SPORTS rivalry onto the international stage. The two programs had previously met three times at in the U SPORTS Championship since 2018, including twice in the past three seasons.

Saskatchewan had taken a 5-2 lead in the early stages of the title match, but a 7-1 run by the Ravens turned that into a 10-6 deficit, and the Ravens put the game away with a 6-1 run in the late stages to take the game from 13-11 to 19-12.

The Huskies showcased a balanced attack in the final, with Téa DeMong, Maya Flindall, and Ella Murphy Wiebe each recording four points, while Logan Reider added three before being named a tournament All-Star.

Despite the loss, Saskatchewan secured the automatic FISU America berth to the 2026 University World Cup, as Carleton had already qualified as the defending champions. Prior to the championship game, the Huskies had booked their ticket earlier in the day with a 21-12 semifinal victory over the University of Chile and finished the tournament with a strong 5-1 record after going a perfect 3-0 in pool play.
