The University of Saskatchewan Huskies men's basketball team is back on home court this weekend, as they welcome the Manitoba Bisons to town.

The Huskies are hoping last weekend is a sign of what's to come, after they snapped a three-game losing skid with a 90-80 victory over the provincial rival Regina Cougars on Saturday night.

Saskatchewan currently sits at 3-3 in the conference standings, as they attempt to chase down the east division leading Bisons.

This weekend presents Saskatchewan with a big opportunity to do just that, as Manitoba enters the pair of matchups riding a two-game win-streak after 99-53 and 79-72 victories over the Brandon Bobcats last weekend.

The meetings are the first and second of four between the two programs this weekend, as the Huskies will travel to Winnipeg in February in their final road trip of the regular-season.

While the Bisons are 5-1, they rank 25th in the country in points-per-game. But they have got it done on the defensive end of the court, ranking fourth in the nation with just 67.5 points-per-game allowed.

Saskatchewan will be looking to turn the tide on a head-to-head matchup that has been in Manitoba's favour in recent memory. The Bisons have taken down the Huskies in three of the last four meetings, including the last two matchups at the PAC back in the 2017-18 season.

The Huskies figure to rely heavily on Marquavian Stephens and Alexander Dewar, who lead the Huskies with 17.2 and 16.2 points-per-game this season, as they look to help lead the green-and-white to a pair of wins in their final regular-season games of the calendar year.
