The number-one ranked program in the nation is back to protect their home court this weekend, after recording a sweep on the west coast with 83-39 and 101-47 victories over the Trinity Western Spartans. The Huskies (10-0), who are outscoring their opponents by a margin of 44 points per-game this season, will play host to their annual Shoot for the Cure event on Friday night. The initiative which has raised over $1.3 million-dollars since its inception in 2007, has developed into a nationwide campaign to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.

This weekend presents a measuring-stick matchup for the Huskies, as they welcome the Victoria Vikes to the PAC. The Huskies and Vikes have matching 8-2 records this season, each looking to move up the Canada West standings. The Huskies, who were ranked at number eight in last week's U SPORTS Top Ten, started off their 2020 calendar year with a pair of decisive wins over the Trinity Western Spartans in Langley, B.C. This weekend will serve as Victoria's first game at the PAC since the Huskies thrilling 82-80 playoff victory over the visiting Vikes in the 2017-18 Canada West Play-In game, which seen Saskatchewan advance to the conference quarter-finals.

The Huskies will take the ice at Merlis Belsher Place for the first time in 2020, as they kick-off a four-game home stand this weekend against the Lethbridge Pronghorns. The team will look to get back their form before the holiday break, as the team concluded the first half of the regular season with three consecutive victories. Friday night's contest will serve as the team's 12th annual Play for a Cure night, with the Huskies wearing special jerseys, which will be auctioned off during the game with all proceeds being donated to the Canadian Cancer Society's volunteer driven program.

Track and Field:
Jan. 10-11: vs. Sanderson Classic, Saskatoon Field House
Previously known as the Sled Dog Open, the Sanderson Classic is the new title for the annual event, which is named after long-time local track and field legend Lyle Sanderson. Sanderson was recently announced as the Canada West Hall of Fame's newest inductee, honouring his commitment to university athletics. The Piapot, Sask. native served as the Huskies track and field head coach for 39 seasons, leading the program to 33 conference and 10 national championships.
The event will serve as the first official meet of 2020 for the Huskies men's and women's track and field teams, as they continue to gear up for the Canada West Championships, which will be held at the Field House on Feb. 21 and 22.

The Huskies continue to jockey for playoff positioning, as they make a push for a top-two seed in the Canada West, which would ensure a bye to the semifinals. The club, who is 9-1-0 in their last ten games, will look to continue their winning ways this weekend.

The men's and women's Huskies wrestling teams will hit the road, as they compete as a part of the Golden Bear Invitational in Edmonton. The Huskies women's team reached the top of the U SPORTS top ten for the first time in program history in the latest edition of the ranking, while the men's team was ranked third, with both teams having the opportunity to prove their status as the nation's finest this weekend
