This weekend provides the Huskies with a massive opportunity to chase down the conference-leading Calgary Dinos. Saskatchewan (10-6-1-3) will take the ice Friday night seven points back of Calgary (13-5-1-1), as the Dogs look to move into a top-two seed in the Canada West, which would earn the team a first-round bye. The Huskies have been led by
Bailee Bourassa, who has registered eight goals in her last eight games, including tallies in three-straight.

It has been a breakout season for the Huskies women's volleyball team. Saskatchewan (9-5) has as many wins through 14 matches as they did all of last season after the team finished with a 9-15 record. The Huskies will take on the Wesmen (7-9) who are on the team's tails in the standings race. Winnipeg is looking to snap a playoff drought of their own, with their last postseason appearance coming back in the 2011-12 campaign. Saskatchewan has swept the previous two matchups against Winnipeg and has not lost to the Canada West foe in Saskatoon since the 2011-12 season. The Huskies hold a 6-0 record over their last three matchups at the PAC, a trend they will look to continue this weekend.

With 14 games down and 8 to go in the 2019-20 regular season, the Huskies (7-7) have positioned themselves in solid standing as they look to clinch their second consecutive postseason appearance. Fresh off the bye week, the Huskies will look to rebound after a weekend split against MacEwan in their opening matchup of the 2020 calendar year. The pair of clashes will serve as a prime opportunity for the Huskies, who are looking to chase down the Wesmen (8-6) in the standings. With the top eight teams qualifying for the postseason and Saskatchewan entering the weekend sitting in seventh place, a pair of wins would go a long way in providing a little extra cushion in the conference's pecking order.

The Huskies split their series last weekend against the Victoria Vikes, winning 78-71 on Friday night, before falling 94-74 on Saturday night. The Bisons will take the court as one of the hottest teams in the country, as winners of their last eight games. After their weekend sweep in Lethbridge, Saskatchewan officially punched their ticket to the postseason. But first, the Huskies will continue their four-game road swing in the Stampede City against the Dinos in a pivotal Canada West showdown. The two programs have matching 14-4-2 records, and after splitting their matchup in Saskatoon earlier this season, this weekend looms large in terms of playoff positioning.
Collin Shirley will look to continue to hot streak for Saskatchewan, who has finished the regular season in the top-two in the conference in four consecutive years after the third-year forward registered a hat trick in the team's 8-5 win Saturday night over the Pronghorns.

The Huskies had plenty of podium finishers in a competition filled with Western Canada's finest, with
Logan Sloan,

Carson Lee,
Hunter Lee,
Alexandra Schell and Angele Aalbers each won gold medals in their respective weight classes. The meet will serve as the first the Huskies program has attended east of Manitoba in the last five years.
