EDMONTON - The 2019 Canada West soccer schedules were unveiled Thursday, as the countdown to the start of the upcoming season begins.

SEASON TICKETS // COMPLETE HUSKIE SCHEDULE: WOMEN'S // MEN'S

Once again this August, CW men's soccer will be the first conference sport to take the field, as Friday, August 23 marks the start of the new season.

Making the switch from the grass of Field 7 to the turf of Griffiths Stadium for all seven of their home games, the Huskies men's soccer team gets things started in Saskatoon on the opening weekend. In total their home slate features MacEwan (Aug. 23), Alberta (Aug. 25), TWU (Sep. 21), UBCO (Sep. 22), Lethbridge (Sep. 28), Calgary (Oct. 4) and MRU (Oct. 6).

After falling to the Fraser Valley Cascades in excruciating fashion in the playoffs last season, the Huskies will look to use the experience a number of their players will gain from competing in the SK Summer Soccer Series to take the next step in 2019-20.

Women's play opens just shy of two weeks later, with a pair of games on Thursday, September 5. Prince George, B.C. (Thompson Rivers @ UNBC), and Calgary, Alta. (UBCO @ Calgary) will serve as the opening night scenes.

Remaining on the grass on Field 7, the Huskies women's team will play seven games at home beginning in the middle of September. They will face UNBC (Sep. 14), Calgary (Sep. 15), Winnipeg (Sep. 28), Manitoba (Sep. 29), Regina (Oct. 11), MacEwan (Oct. 19) and Alberta (Oct. 20).

A young team that pulled off a playoff upset last season has a strong core of players competing against some of the top competition in North America this Summer.

Regular season play for both the men and women concludes Sunday, October 20, before the playoffs open the following weekend.

The 2019 CW season wraps up October 31-November 3 with the conference Final Fours, as the women's tournament heads to the highest remaining Prairie Division team, while the men's event will be hosted by the highest remaining Pacific Division squad.

Following the CW Final Fours, the nation's best women's teams will head to Western Canada, as the Victoria Vikes host the U SPORTS Women's Championship, while the top men's squads head to Montreal, where the defending national champion UQAM Citadins will host nationals Nov. 7-10.

To catch all of the soccer action across both venues be sure to choose your season tickets. By upgrading your ticket package to the premium level you will receive an exclusive Huskie toque and scarf.
