Ranked as the top Canada West team in the nation and No. 2 overall, the Huskie men have experienced a remarkable season thus far finishing first in each meet they have attended. Opening the season with a win at the Dino Open, the Dogs put on a dominant performance at their home meet in November before going on to secure wins at both the Pronghorn Invitational and Golden Bear Invitational. The strength of this Huskie team has undeniably been their depth, with several student-athletes impressing on a weekly basis.

Two veteran student-athletes in Donovan Neudorf and Judah Arthurs lead the Huskies as the head for Edmonton. The pair each rank first in the nation among their weight classes, with Neudorf competing out of the 65kg and Arthurs the 90kg. Neudorf will be looking to bring home his fifth consecutive Canada West medal having earned three second-place finishes and a 2025 gold medal. The fifth-year product of Prince Albert enters the weekend with two wins in 2025-26, one at the Huskie Open and another at the Golden Bear Invitational. Matthew Yong is another student-athlete looking to cap off a strong season, ranked second in the 100kg weight class and coming off a pair of wins in 2025-26 at the Huskie Open and Lethbridge Invitational.

Four other Huskie men appear in their respective rankings and will be looked to contend for medals in Edmonton. Takis Sembalerus (72kg) ranks third and trails only Alberta's Joshua Lundin among Canada West student-athletes while Layne Motley (3rd, 76kg), Yuel Kebrom (4th, 61kg), and Nathan Kowal (4th, 68kg) are featured as the highest-ranked Canada West wrestlers in their weight classes.

The Huskie men will be hoping to bring home their 11th consecutive medal finish in the team standings and contend for an eighth conference banner. The last time the Dogs stood atop the conference podium was 2020.

On the women's side, Saskatchewan heads to the conference championships ranked fourth in the nation with Canada West rivals Alberta (No. 1) and Calgary (No. 2) ahead. Despite the national rankings, the Canada West women's wrestling schedule has been much more tightly contested, with the Huskies and Dinos having won two meets each (SSK - Huskie Open & Lethbridge Invitational, CGY - Dino Open & Golden Bear Invitational). Similarly to the USask men, the women feature strong depth with several athletes ranked among the best in their respective weight classes.

Fourth-year Sierra Mullin and rookie Alexis Lavers lead the way for the Huskies, each ranked in the top spot in their weight class. Mullin, a three-time Canada West medalist and two time 53kg champion, has reached the podium in two out of three meets this season which included a win at the Huskie Open. Meanwhile for Lavers, who is set to compete in her first conference championship in the 62kg weight class, has experienced an impressive opening season which began with a win at the Dino Open.

Veteran Myah Phillips will also look to bring home hardware in Edmonton as the No. 2-ranked student-athlete in the 83kg weight class. The local Saskatoon product ranks behind only Alberta's Vivanne Rouleau following a season which saw her earn four top finishes and one second-place finish.

The trio of Mullin, Lavers, and Phillips are joined by Abby Wolff (3rd, 65kg), Myah Clatney (5th, 65kg), Elizabeth Chapman (5th, 50kg), Adia-Lyn Jones (6th, 72kg), and Caitlin Clatney (7th, 59kg) as ranked Huskies looking to contend.

The USask women will be in search of a tenth consecutive podium finish and third Canada West title in program history as they take the mats this weekend.

Action gets underway at 11:00 AM (CST) from the UofA Main Gymnasium on Saturday (Feb. 14). Fans can catch all the action live online at CanadaWest.tv.
