In their second meeting of the 2025 season, the Huskies and Golden Bears enter week six at opposites end of the Canada West standings. Saskatchewan currently holds the top spot in the conference after recording wins over Regina and Calgary following a road loss to Manitoba. Meanwhile, Alberta finds themselves in last place with just one win this season.

Saturday will serve as the second meeting between the two teams after the Huskies handed the Golden Bears a 29-20 loss in week one. The season-opening contest in Edmonton saw Alberta take a 15-17 halftime lead before the Huskies held the home team to just three points in the second half en route to the victory.

Saskatchewan returns to Griffiths coming off their best offensive performance of the season. In a 45-22 rout of the Calgary Dinos last week, the Dogs recorded 636 yards of total offence thanks to several outstanding performances. Fourth-year pivot Anton Amundrud secured new career highs in both passing yards (429) and touchdowns (5), while Ryker Frank recorded 213 total yards on just 16 touches, and four receivers surpassed 70 yards.

Through five games, Amundrud now leads the conference with 1,641 passing yards and 14 passing touchdowns while his favourtie target Daniel Wiebe continues to establish himself as the conference's best pass catcher with 663 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

In the Alberta Golden Bears, the Huskies will take on a squad coming off their first win of the season after defeating the UBC Thunderbirds 38-18 last week at home. Despite their 1-4 record, the Golden Bears feature one of the more productive offences in the conference, producing 423.2 yards per game, including 302.8 through the air. Their struggles though have come in the redzone, where the team converts just 50% of trips into touchdowns, and on defence, where the Golden Bears have given up 30.2 points and 404.6 yards per game.

Saturday's clash between the Huskies and Golden Bears will serve as the final game before Canada West heads into the conference's bye week. Upon returning fom the break, the Huskies will head to Vancouver for another meeting with the T-Birds before returning home for a regular season finale against Manitoba.
