- The Huskie Cross Country team heads to Calgary for their final competition this season before the 2025 Canada West Championships
- The team is coming off an impressive performance at the Dakota Classic two weeks ago which saw both the men and women capture team titles in addition to occupying four of the six podium positions individually

Saturday, October 4, 2025 - FOOTBALL DAY IN SASKATOON
#5 Saskatchewan (4-1) vs Alberta Golden Bears (1-4), Griffiths Stadium, 7:00 PM CST
Story Lines:
- Last week, the Huskies totaled 636 yards of total offence in a 45-22 rout of the Calgary Dinos on the road. The contest also saw the defence hold the Dinos to just 14 points until the final minute
- This week, the Huskies will host the Alberta Golden Bears who are coming of their first win of the season after defeating the UBC Thunderbirds 38-18
- The Huskies previously defeated the Golden Bears 29-20 on the road to open the 2025 season
- Friday's game will serve as the culmination of Football Day in Saskatoon, presented by the Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation, where over 1,900 youth football players will compete from 9:00am to 4:00pm in and around Griffiths Stadium
- Following another outstanding performance, Anton Amundrud continues to climb the Huskie program record books and now ranks Top-5 in completions (4th, 55) and touchdowns (5th, 42) while sitting 6th in passing yards (6,945)
- Daniel Wiebe continues to chase history in his final season and, after a 151-yard performance in Calgary, trails the program's all-time receiving yards record by just 806 yards
- Ryker Frank meanwhile has the chance to make history on Saturday with the fifth-year running back currently in a tie for the most total touchdowns in program history at 30 along with former backs Terry Eisler and Colton Klassen

- Following back-to-back wins against the MacEwan Griffins and Alberta Pandas, the Huskies now hold a four-point advantage over the Pandas for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Prairie Division
- This weekend, the Huskies will play another pair of crucial matches against Calgary and MRU, both of whom are ahead of the Dogs in the division
- In their previous meetings, the Huskies suffered a hard-fought 3-2 loss to the Cougars and 2-0 loss to the Dinos in the opening weekend of the season
- Anna Oliver continues to climb the program's all-time career minutes played leaderboard and, after playing two complete games this past weekend, moved into third-place with 5,545 career minutes played. Oliver now trails only Maya Gabruch (5,709) and Meagan Manson (5,663)
- Also climbing the record books is keeper Kalin Roberts who moved into a tie for second-place with her 10th career clean sheet. Roberts is now tied with former Huskies Samantha Simpson, Cara Santaga, and Kyleigh Vause
