Road Regular Season Finale for Huskie Basketball
This weekend the Huskie basketball teams head on the road for a regular season finale carrying huge playoff implications for both the USask women's and men's team.

For the Huskie women, their final two games of the regular season will decide the first overall seed in the Canada West postseason. Fortunately, the Dogs control their own fate. With a weekend sweep of the Brandon Bobcats the Huskies would clinch the top spot in the Prairie Division and the No. 1 overall seed in the conference, holding the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Alberta Pandas who share a 16-2 record.

On the men's side the Huskies need a pair of wins and some help to earn a postseason berth as the 12th-seed in the conference. Entering the weekend tied with the Brandon Bobcats and trailing the Cougars by a game, a weekend sweep would see the Huskies jump the Bobcats for 8th. To move past the Cougars, the Dogs will need the Calgary Dinos (14-4) to defeat the Cougars at least once, with the Huskies owning the head-to-head tiebreaker over Regina following their rivalry weekend sweep.

Playoff-Bound Huskies Host Manitoba, Looking to Capture No. 1-Seed
Fresh off a shootout road win over the now No. 3-ranked UBC Thunderbirds, the Huskies return home for their regular season finale against the Manitoba Bisons.

On the line for the Dogs is both the No. 1-seed in the East Division and the top seed overall in the Canada West playoffs. Trailing the Alberta Golden Bears (bye week) by a single point the Dogs can secure a first-round bye with just one win this weekend. Two wins would clinch the top spot in the conference, securing home-ice for the duration of the postseason.

In four meetings this season, the Huskies are perfect 4-0 against the Bisons. In their most recent meeting, the Dogs earned a weekend sweep of Manitoba on home ice with two wins by five-goal margins (7-2 & 5-0).

Women's Hockey to Close Out 2024-25 Season on the Road
The Huskies, who have been eliminated from the Canada West postseason, will look to close out the 2024-25 season on a high note this weekend as they face off with the playoff-bound Bisons on the road.

The Dogs can also play spoiler, with the Bisons looking to finish 2nd in the East Division and avoid a first-round series on the road. Leading the 3rd-seeded Regina Cougars by three points, a Huskie sweep would severely hurt the Bisons' chances of a home playoff series.

Playoff Teams Square Off in Langley in Final Regular Season Weekend
Well rested following their winter bye week, the Huskie volleyball teams will make their lone trip to BC this weekend to take on the Trinity Western Spartans in the final weekend of the regular season.

For the Huskie women's team, this weekend will determine if the Dogs return home to host a Canada West Play-In series, or head back on the road for the Quarterfinal round. The Huskies are currently in 7th-place in the conference standings, and if the playoffs started today, would be hosting a play-in series against the 10th-ranked team (Currently TWU). For the Dogs to move up to 6th and advance through to the quarterfinals they will need a pair of wins this weekend in addition to two Thompson Rivers losses.

On the men's side, the Huskies have secured themselves a top 4 seed in the playoffs with a 13-5 record and 38 points in the standings. Trailing the UBC Thunderbirds by two points and the Alberta Golden Bears by a game, the Huskies still have the potential to move up the standings with wins and help this weekend. However, regardless of the result in Langley BC, the Huskies will be returning to Saskatoon for a Canada West quarterfinal series.
