SASKATOON, Sask. - Huskie Wreslting made their home debut this past weekend at Education Gymnasium, hosting the Huskie Duals Friday Night (Nov. 28) followed by the Huskie Open Saturday (Nov. 29). It was a strong weekend for the Dogs, who swept the team titles at the Open following a Saskatchewan men win at the Duals against the Calgary Dinos.

HUSKIE DUALS - Men 22-17 vs Calgary | Women 19-29 vs Calgary - RESULTS
On the men's side, the Huskies earned a 22-17 victory on their home mats Friday night as the team faced off with the Calgary Dinos in head-to-head conference action. The teams split the eight total matches, with the Dogs earning four wins by pin to the Dinos three.
Donovan Neudorf (65kg),
Nathan Kowal (68kg),
Takis Sembalerus (72kg), and
Owen McGillivray were the Saskatchewan victors with Kowal and McGillivray impressing with pins in less than a minute of action. Sembalerus meanwhile secured his victory in just over a minute (1:38) while Neudorf went the distance with Kaden De Castro, pinning his opponent in 4:33.Â
For the Saskatchewan women,
Elizabeth Chapman (50kg),
Abby Wolff (56kg),
Myah Clatney (65kg), and
Myah Phillips (83kg) won their matches with all but Clatney doing so by pin. Clatney defeated Calgary's Liz Latulippe by a narrow 2-1 decision.

HUSKIE OPEN - Men 1st-Place, Women 1st-Place - RESULTS
The Saturday Open was highlighted by a double victory from the home teams, with the Saskatchewan men recording a commanding 57 points to beat the Alberta Golden Bears while the USask women. beat out their foes from the evening prior by nine.
On the women's side, the Huskies saw ten Huskie athletes finish on the podium with
Sierra Mullin (53kg),
Abby Wolff (56kg), and
Myah Phillips (83kg) all recording gold medal finishes. The highlight of the day came from Mullin, who avenged her losses to Calgary's Maya Johnson in both Friday Duals and the U SPORTS Bronze Medal match a season ago.
For the Saskatchewan men, six Huskies finished on the podium with
Davyd Dzyuba (61kg),
Donovan Neudorf (65kg), and
Matthew Yong (100kg) all earning first-place finishes.Â
Of the 22 student-athletes who saw action this past weekend just two,
Donovan Neudorf and
Myah Phillips, came away unscathed and with perfect records.

The Dogs will return to action in a weeks time, with the program set ot head to Lethbridge, Alberta for the Pronghorn Duals and Open set to take place on December 5 and 6, 2025 at the First Choice Savings Centre.Â
