The Huskies finished off the regular season in Lethbridge this weekend. It was the last time they would see their Canada West competition before the championship.
Coming off her U SPORTS wresting athlete of the week performance in Guelph,
Myah Phillips captured gold with wins coming from two pins and two technical falls. Rookie,
Ellia Gaudet won her first gold of the season in the 50kg weight class. Other Huskie medals were awarded to
Olivia Rose, silver at 83kg, bronze medals to to
Taebyn Tulp at 72kg and
Kayley Clarke, 62kg weight class. The Huskie women's team finished 2
nd overall team points.
Drake Buechler put on a performance out scoring his opponents 41-7 and winning all four match by technical foul.
Cole Sanderson's scored the most points in the open with 51 earning him a bronze medal in the 76kg weight class. Third year,
Judah Arthurs took second in the 82kg weight class. Matthew Young (90kg) and
Iulius Cojocaru (100kg) rounded out the medals both taking home bronze.
The Huskies will prepare for the 2025 Canada West Championship hosted in Saskatoon at the Education Gym, February 15.
