Huskies Shutout Pronghorns on the Road

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – On a sunny Saturday afternoon at the University of Lethbridge Community Stadium, the Pronghorns faced a tough challenge from the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. Despite the Pronghorns' strong start, the Huskies took the lead with a long-range shot from Ethan Cabral in the 43rd minute. The second half saw the Pronghorns press for an equalizer with key chances from Kai Sakaguchi, but they couldn't break through Huskies' goalkeeper. The game ended with the Huskies securing a 1-0 victory.

The game started with both teams battling for control in a back-and-forth contest.

Cole Roselund had a strong opportunity early in the game with a corner kick, but it hit the top of the net, missing the chance to give the Pronghorns the lead.

The Huskies opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, with Ethan Cabral launching a high-flying ball from 30 yards out to find the back of the Pronghorns' net, making it 1-0.

As the second half unfolded, the midfield became a battleground, with both teams working hard to control their zones.

Ten minutes into the second half, Carson Moore connected with Kai Sakaguchi, earning the Pronghorns a corner kick, but the equalizer eluded them.

The Pronghorns had a golden chance in the 67th minute when Simon Rolfson beat a Saskatchewan defender to set up Sakaguchi, but Huskies goalkeeper Jaron Slopinski made a crucial save to maintain the 1-0 lead.

In the 78th minute, Sakaguchi had another chance, but could only get a toe on the ball, sending it high over the net.

Despite sustained pressure from the Pronghorns, the game ended with a 1-0 victory for the Huskies.

A penalty kick opportunity in extra time gave the Pronghorns a glimmer of hope, but the Huskies' keeper made a clutch save, denying Will Hughes' shot.
