WBB: Huskies Cruise to an 84-41 Win Over the Bobcats

SASKATOON, SK – The Huskies were firing on all cylinders tonight as they cruised to an 84-41 win over Bobcats. 
 
After a bye week, the Saskatchewan Huskies were charged up and ready to play as they welcomed the Brandon Bobcats to the Physical Activity Complex. The Huskies came out of bye week with a 2-2 record while the Bobcats have yet to nab a win as they sit at 0-6. 

The Huskies defense was strong in the first quarter as they kept the Bobcats to just five points. A strong showing from Courtney Primeau (six points) and Carly Ahlstrom (five points) would give the Dogs the 21-5 lead after the first. 
 
The defense was locked in for the second quarter and balanced scoring by the Huskies saw them with a 40-12 lead at halftime. Gage Grassick led the way at the break with nine points, supported by Courtney Primeau's eight points from the bench.
 
The third quarter saw the Bobcats turn up the heat on the Huskies. Brandon's Andrea Taruc would put up six points on the Dogs with another five from Reetta Tulkki. The Huskies offence struggled a bit in the third, with none of their three-point attempts finding the basket. 
 
Heading into the fourth quarter, the Huskies had a healthy 58-27 lead over the Bobcats. Maya Flindall was the star of the fourth with seven points in just two minutes. The Huskies would go on to take the 84-41 win over the Bobcats. 
 
The Dogs took advantage of turnovers tonight, scoring 24 points off turnovers. It was the bench that dominated the game, with an impressive 37 points. Carly Ahlstrom would lead the Huskies with 16 points, eight rebounds, and one block. Reetta Tulkii was the star for the Bobcats, with ten points, one rebound, and one assist.
