WBB: Huskies Dominate on Saturday Night with a 97-40 win over Brandon

SASKATOON, SK – After an impressive 84-41 win over the Brandon Bobcats on Friday night, the Saskatchewan Huskies were looking to capitalize on that momentum in game two of the series on Saturday night at the Physical Activity Complex.

While the Bobcats had their moments, they were no match for the Huskies who cruised to a 97-40 win over Brandon.

The Bobcats wouldn't score more than 11 points in a quarter the entire night as the Huskies defence overwhelmed Brandon's offense. The Huskies would put up 43 points off turnovers, keeping Brandon to just seven.

The first quarter saw the Dogs come out strong, with Tea Demong putting up eight points and one block, supported by Gage Grassick's seven points and two rebounds. The defence put a
stop to Brandon's star players Piper Ingalls and Reeta Tulkki early, keeping both to just three points each in the first.

The Huskies didn't slow down in the second quarter, with Logan Reider stepping up with eight points and one rebound. The defence dominated the court, shutting down all scoring from the Bobcats except for Piper Ingalls and Reeta Tulkki, who would score all 11 points for Brandon in the second quarter. Saskatchewan headed into halftime with a comfortable 53-22 lead.

Offence was the star of the show in the third quarter, with the Huskies outscoring Brandon 26-8. Gage Grassick, Logan Reider, Tea Demong, Kayla Shand, Maya Flindall, Jordan Haggerty and Rose Fall would all contribute in the third quarter, as the Huskies moved to the fourth with a 79-30 lead.

While the Bobcats would try and turn things around in the fourth quarter, they were no match for the Huskies, who would outscore Brandon 18-10 and take the 97-40 win, sweeping the Bobcats.
