WSOC: Huskies Drop Season Finale

EDMONTON — The Huskies took on MacEwan in the regular season finale.

The game started out evenly matched with both teams battling.

It took until the 30th minute for someone to open the scoring as Alyx Henderson took a nice feed from Brenna Paquin, giving the Griffins a 1-0 lead heading into half time.

In the 55th minute, Maya Morrell scored her seventh goal of the season to grow the Griffins lead to two.
The Huskies cut MacEwan's lead in half in the 61st minute as Taisa Gabruch converted on a corner kick for her first of the season.
MacEwan responded with two goals in just nine minutes, and their goals were just two minutes apart. Morrell scored her second of the match. Then, on the Griffins' next possession, Henderson scored to put it out of reach for the visiting Huskies.

Nadia Kalyar got her 13th start in goal for the Huskies stopping 6/10 shots during the match. Bianca Castillo and Breanna Truscott split the time with Castillo stopping 1/2 and recording the win.
