Box Score WINNIPEG - The two undefeated teams in the Canada West East Division finally squared off for the first time on Friday night, with the hometown Winnipeg Wesmen prevailing 72-64.

Despite trailing the Huskies 13-2 in the opening frame, the Wesmen were able to take control of the first half, ending the second quarter with a 43-44 lead.

The Huskies were able to shoot a steady .400, whereas the Wesmen were slightly more efficient hitting a .451 mark.

Carly Ahlstrom splashed in 29 points in the effort on .714 from behind the arc and nine rebounds. Katriana Philipenko added 17 points for the Huskies.

Wesmen forward Keylyn Filewich tallied 18 points on .530 shooting percentage, 13 rebounds and five assists. 

The Huskies will look for a series split with the Wesmen, when they face them again on Saturday night at 7 PM in Winnipeg.
