BRANDON, Man. – The Saskatchewan Huskies picked up where the left off on Friday, rolling to a 99-41 win Saturday night over the host Bobcats on Saturday.
 
The Bobcats improved from Friday's performance but the No. 1 ranked Huskies were dominant on the defensive end again, forcing turnovers and crashing the boards through all four quarters. 
 
While it may have been easy to sit back after a one-sided affair Friday, the Huskies were not taking it easy on Saturday.
 
"We have big goals this season and we need to play every game with those goals in mind, so it's important that we show everyone that we are here to win," said Summer Masikewich.
 
Saturday's story was how Saskatchewan controlled the glass, using their height and experience on the inside pulling down 20 offensive boards as a team to the Bobcats 25 total rebounds.
 
Six Huskies finished in double-figure scoring, led by Sabine Dukate and Summer Maskewich who both finished with 15 points. Masekiwich also registered a double-double, pulling down 11 rebounds.
 
The Bobcats were able to protect the ball a bit better in the first quarter and forced a few turnovers of their own in the second quarter compared to Friday, but even though the offence wasn't as anemic as Friday night it wasn't a whole lot better.
 
Rookie guard Sydney Latrace had a team-high 12 points in just her second conference game, while fifth-year guard Logan Biccum finished with 10.
 
While it's easy to get down following a weekend sweep such as this, Bobcats head coach Novell Thomas is taking this weekend's test with a grain of salt.
 
 "They're a very good team with some very good fifth-years and fourth years, I should say excellent fifth years and fourth years, so I think you just gotta walk away with it knowing that hey, we just played the number one ranked team in Canada and we gotta learn from it and move on" says Thomas.
 
The Bobcats will quickly look to turn things around as they get set to host the Lethbridge Pronghorns next weekend while the Huskies return to Saskatoon and begin preparations for their conference home-opener against the MacEwan Griffins.
