SASKATOON – The University of Saskatchewan Huskies football team will travel south to take on their provincial rival Regina Rams in their final regular season game of the year.
 
The Huskies clinched a postseason appearance with a 27-4 victory over the Manitoba Bisons on Oct. 20 and will need a victory and a UBC loss in order to host a home playoff game at Griffiths Stadium. Meanwhile, the Rams were on the wrong end of a 58-6 loss at the hands of No. 3 ranked Calgary Dinos, which when paired with the forfeit of the team's first five games, eliminated the Rams from playoff contention.
 
The two teams met during week four of the regular season, with the Huskies defending home field and picking up a 33-20 victory over their counterparts. Saskatchewan's defence was the story of the game, as they racked up four sacks and intercepted Noah Picton on three occasions, with Jacob Solie recording a 64-yard pick six. The Rams hope home field is the difference on this occasion as they look to play spoiler against their bitter rival.

1: The Huskies will return to the postseason, after a monstrous improvement following their 2017 season, where they went 2-6. 

2: Saskatchewan's defense leads the Canada West Conference in interceptions, sacks and defensive touchdown's.

4: Saskatchewan and Regina last met at Mosaic Stadium on Oct. 1, 2016, when the Rams defeated the Huskies by a score of 37-29. The two teams combined for 833 total yards of offense in the high-scoring contest. 

5: Regina started Josh Donnelly at quarterback against the Dinos, and the rookie pivot became only the third true freshman in program history to start under centre.

Scouting the Rams
 
Regina currently sit in the basement of the Canada West with a 1-6 record and will be looking to close their season out on a high note against Saskatchewan.
 
The game will provide the program with an opportunity to honour their fifth-year players who will partake in partake in their final games as Regina Rams on Friday night. Among the notable Rams seniors who will be looking to finish their careers off with a victory over their provincial rivals will be Noah Picton, Atlee Simon and Danny Nesbitt.
 
The Rams have had three different quarterbacks start in their past three games, with Noah Picton missing the past two contests with an injury.
 
Ryan Schienbein has been superb for the Rams offense all season long, as the fourth-year receiver from Regina has racked up 53 receptions for 684 yards and five touchdowns.
 
On the defensive side of the ball, true freshman Jaxon Ford has been vital for his unit, as the first-year linebacker leads his team in total tackles with 29.5. Ford also is tied for the team lead in interceptions with two.
