Box Score
Jenelle Zapski, who led the Canada West in scoring during the regular season, tallied the game-winning goal in the 84th minute. Defender Erica Parenteau played in the ball to Zapski who just beat MacEwan netminder Rebecca Reif to the ball. The ball trickled into the bottom right corner.
The two opponents spent the majority of the match playing tied.
Saskatchewan's Carmen Gorlick opened the scoring just seven minutes into the match after getting a head on an Erica Hindmarsh corner kick.
But the lead didn't last long. MacEwan tallied just six minutes later on a quick cross play by Kristen Skrundz to Jazmyne Mauthe. Mauthe's shot sailed into the top right corner past an outstretched Cara Santaga.
The Canada West Final Four begins Friday in Langley, B.C. It is the second time in history the Huskies have competed in the conference championship tournament. The Huskies hosted the event in 1999, finishing fourth.
