Box Score

The Bisons started the game strong with an early power play, but Cassidy Hendricks, the Huskies goalie, shut the door keeping it even game. Hendricks had a solid first period making 17 saves (several of the close in range) while Manitoba's goalie, second year Amanda Schubert, had to only make two.

In the second period, Saskatchewan turned up the pressure controlling the puck for the better part of the second half of the period. The home team took a couple of penalties in the second half but Schubert kept it a tie game making eight saves.

After two periods of play the Bisons were 0/2 of the power while the Huskies were 0/3.

The visitors scored the only goal of the game 17 seconds into the third period, when Saskatchewan defenceman Flinton's slapshot beat the Bisons netminder.

With seven minuets left in the contest, Manitoba took a couple of penalties resulting in a nearly two minutes of 5-on-3 for the Huskies. The Bisons were able to kill it and keep it a one goal game.

Hendricks earned a shutout stopping all 27 of the home teams shots.

The teams split the two game series with one game each. Both teams are back in action Friday, October 17, when the Huskies host Alberta and the Bisons visit Mount Royal.
