Huskie Athlete of the Week (Feb 18, 2019):
University of Saskatchewan guard Sabine Dukate played a major role in the Huskies moving on to the Canada West semifinals with a weekend sweep of the Winnipeg Wesmen on home court.
The fourth year from Latvia scored 41 points and hit 11 of 19 three-pointers she attempted to end the season of the upset-minded Wesmen.
The Arts & Science major scored 20 points, 16 in the second half, on Friday night, as the Huskies erased what was a 15-point deficit in the third quarter for the 84-75 victory. On Saturday night Dukate scored 21 points and went 7-11 from beyond-the-arc to help Saskatchewan dominate throughout the game for a 102-56 victory.
Next up for Dukate and the Huskies is a semifinal series against the Lethbridge Pronghorns on home court from Feb. 21-23.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (Nov 19, 2018):
University of Saskatchewan guard Sabine Dukate and her Huskie teammates were dominant over the weekend, defeating the Winnipeg Wesmen by a combined 68 points in a weekend sweep.
The fourth year from Ventspils, Latvia tallied 32 points, seven rebounds and added seven steals in 56 minutes of action over the weekend.
In Friday's 49-point victory, the Arts & Science student scored 11 points and added three rebounds. A night later in a 68-49 win, Dukate scored a game-high 21 points, while also adding four rebounds and four steals.
Next up for Dukate and the No. 7 Huskies is a home weekend against the Brandon Bobcats.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (February 19, 2018):
University of Saskatchewan guard Sabine Dukate helped the Huskies to a quarter-final series win over the University of Winnipeg Wesmen with 45 points, eight rebounds and 15 assists in the three games.
The Arts & Science student from Latvia tallied 15 points, three rebounds and three assists in Thursday''s 76-58 win in Game 1. She added nine points, one rebound and seven assists in a 93-85 Game 2 loss, before scoring a team-high 21 points, four rebounds and five assists in Game 3''s 97-64 win.
Dukate and the reigning Canada West champion Huskies host the Trinity Western Spartans in a best-of-three semifinal series beginning February 22 at the PAC.

University of Saskatchewan guard Sabine Dukate helped the Huskies to a split with the Trinity Western Spartans recording 43 points.
The Arts & Science student from Latvia tallied 22 points, two rebounds, two assists and one block in Friday''s dying second 69-68 loss. A night later in a 82-84 win, the third year added 21 points, four assists and five rebounds.
Dukate and the No. 6 ranked Huskies travel to Brandon to meet the Bobcats next weekend.

University of Saskatchewan guard Sabine Dukate helped the Huskies remain perfect in the Canada West women’s basketball season with 42 points in a weekend sweep over the Victoria Vikes.
The Arts & Science student from Latvia tallied 21 points, three rebounds and three assists in Friday’s 89-79 win in 35 minutes. A night later in a 96-63 win, the third-year added another 21 points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in her 22 minutes.
Dukate and the No. 8 ranked Huskies travel to Edmonton to meet the Alberta Pandas next weekend.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (March 6, 2017):
Second-year University of Saskatchewan point guard Sabine Dukate helped lead the Huskies to a second straight Canada West title with 50 points in the two games at Final Four.
In Friday’s 72-62 semifinal win over the Alberta Pandas, Dukate tallied 25 points, two rebounds and three steals in 40 minutes. A night later in a 64-53 win, the Arts & Science student from Latvia recorded another 25 points, six rebounds and one assist in 38 minutes.
It is the fifth Canada West title in program history.
Dukate and the Huskies enter the U SPORTS national tournament seeded second and will meet the Laval Rouge et Or in a quarter-final Thursday.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (January 16, 2017):
Second-year point guard Sabine Dukate helped lead the Huskies to a weekend sweep over the Lethbridge Pronghorns with 44 points.
In Friday’s 75-63 win, Dukate tallied 13 points, six assists, one rebound and two steals. A night later in a 88-53 win, the Arts & Science student from Latvia recorded a game-high 31 points, three assists, four rebounds and two steals.
The sweep extends the Huskies’ win streak to five straight games.
Dukate and the Huskies remain on the road next weekend against the Calgary Dinos.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (December 5, 2016):
Second-year point guard Sabine Dukate helped lead the Huskies to a weekend split with the No.2 ranked Regina Cougars recording a combined 37 points and nine rebounds.
In Friday’s 79-71 loss, Dukate tallied a team-high 20 points, six rebounds one assist and one steal. A night later in a 59-52 upset win, the Arts & Science student from Latvia recorded another team-high 17 points and three rebounds.
Dukate and the Huskies return to the court January 6-7 after the December break at home against the UBC Thunderbirds.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (March 15, 2016):
First-year University of Saskatchewan guard Sabine Dukate rose to the occasion at the Canada West Final Four, helping the Huskies take the conference title.
Dukate scored a game-high 29 points in the semifinal against the Alberta Pandas on Friday night. The Arts & Science student went 9-of-15 from the field, including a 5-for-7 performance from beyond the arc in the Huskie win. Dukate helped Saskatchewan close out the win going perfect from the free throw line on six attempts,while adding six rebounds.
On Saturday Dukate once again led the way for the Huskies with a game-high 18 points. Dukate added four assists and a pair of wins to help the Huskies claim the Canada West Championship.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (November 9, 2015):
First-year University of Saskatchewan guard Sabine Duakte had an impressive showing in her first weekend of Canada West basketball.
Dukate opened the season with a 15-point, five assist, five rebound effort in a 78-39 win over Manitoba. The Ventspiils, Latvia native also recorded two steals on the night.
On Saturday, the Arts & Science student hit double digits in scoring again with 11 points in just 23 minutes of floor time in a 99-57 Huskie win. For the second night in a row Dukate tallied five assists and five rebounds.
