Huskie Athlete of the Week (Jan 8, 2019):
University of Saskatchewan outside-hitter Colin Fraser had the best weekend of his already impressive 2018-19 campaign on the road in Winnipeg.Â
The fifth year from Saskatoon recorded 39 kills and 11 digs in a split with the Wesmen.
The Business student opened his weekend with a season-high 24 kills to help the Huskies to a 3-2 (25-22, 25-18, 28-30, 19-25, 15-9) victory on Friday afternoon.
In a 3-1 (25-19, 25-11, 26-28, 25-23) loss on Saturday, the attacker put up 15 more kills and two service aces.
Fraser and the Huskies will now have a week off to get set for the stretch run to the Canada West playoffs and will be back in action Jan. 18 & 19 at home against the Manitoba Bisons.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (January 8, 2018):
University of Saskatchewan outside hitter Colin Fraser led the Huskies in a weekend sweep of provincial rival the Regina Cougars combining for 28 kills and 19 digs in the two wins.
In Friday''s 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-21) win, the fourth-year Business student recroded 14 kills, 12 digs, one service ace and 1.5 blocks. A night later in a 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-21, 25-9) win, Fraser tallied another 14 kills, seven digs, three blocks and one ace.
Fraser and the Huskies remain at home to host the MacEwan Griffins next weekend.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (November 6, 2017):
University of Saskatchewan outside hitter Colin Fraser led the Huskies in a weekend series with the Winnipeg Wesmen recording a combined 35 kills, nine digs and seven service aces.
In Friday''s 3-1 (22-25, 27-25, 26-24, 28-26) loss, the fourth-year Business student recorded 20 kills, five digs, two service aces and two block assists. A night later in a 3-2 (12-25, 25-18, 25-14, 23-25, 15-12) loss, Fraser tallied 15 kills, four digs, five service aces, one solo block and two block assists.
Fraser and the Huskies return to the court November 17-18 in Calgary against the Dinos.
