Huskie Athlete of the Week (March 5, 2018):
University of Saskatchewan forward Andrew Johnson scored two goals in the Canada West Final on the weekend.
The third-year forward from Saskatoon scored at 7:08 in the first period of Game 1 and again at 19:51 in the third period of Game 2.
The Huskies advance to the U SPORTS Championship March 15-18 in Fredericton, N.B., as Canada West Finalists. Seeding and schedule will be available March 11.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (10-11-2015):
First-year University of Saskatchewan forward Andrew Johnson got his Huskie career off to a brilliant start this weekend with a pair of game winning goals on the road against the Calgary Dinos.
Johnson helped the Huskies, who are ranked fifth in the first CIS men''s hockey poll, sweep the No. 9 ranked Dinos.
Johnson set up an early goal on Friday before notching the game winner on the power play. On Saturday, the freshman scored the lone goal of the game while short-handed in the second period.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (02-01-2016):
First-year University of Saskatchewan forward Andrew Johnson showed his scoring touch with a three goals to go along with a pair of assists in a weekend sweep of the Manitoba Bisons.
Johnson moved into the Canada West lead for game winning goals after notching his fourth of the season on Friday night. The Saskatoon, Sask. native scored back-to-back goals in the weekend opener to spark the Huskies offence to an 8-3 win.
In Saturday''s 5-2 win, Johnson got the Huskies rolling once again. His 12th goal of the season gave Saskatchewan an early lead and began a string of four straight Huskie goals. Johnson picked up two assists, including one on the game winner.
