Huskie Athlete of the Week (Nov 5, 2019):

Third-year defensive back Nelson Lokombo was stellar in the Huskies’ first home playoff win since 2009, helping the team reach the Hardy Cup for the second year in a row.

The kinesiology student from Abbotsford had an interception, forced a fumble and recorded six tackles as the Huskies’ defence shutout the Golden Bears in the second half.

Lokombo and the Huskies are back in action this weekend as they get set to defend their Canada West crown in Calgary against the Dinos.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Sept 16, 2019):

University of Saskatchewan defensive back Nelson Lokombo etched his name in the conference and Huskie record books Friday night, helping the Huskies defeat the Rams 44-9 in Regina.

The third year from Abbotsford, B.C. was all over the place, recording two interceptions, four tackles, two for a loss and a sack on the night. Lokombo also returned one of his interceptions 98 yards for a touchdown. His 193 interception return yards through just three games are the most in a season for any Huskie and the second-most in Canada West history.

Lokombo and the Huskies are back in action this coming Saturday when they travel to Edmonton for a showdown with the Alberta Golden Bears.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Sept 5, 2018):

University of Saskatchewan defensive back Nelson Lokombo surpassed his interception total from all of last year in just one game last weekend.

The second year from Abbotsford, B.C. recorded two acrobatic interceptions and four tackles in the Huskies’ season-opening 42-0 victory over the Alberta Golden Bears.

Lokombo and the Huskies are back in action this Friday, Sep. 7, on the road against the Manitoba Bisons in Winnipeg.
