Scott Flory

Scott Flory was named the 25th head coach in Huskie Football history on March 13, 2017, following three year as a member of the offensive staff.

Since taking over the reigns of the program, the Huskies have seen immense success during his tenure as  head coach. After posting a 2-6 record in his first season, Flory then led the Huskies to the program’s first hardy Cup title in 12 years in 2018. Since then, Saskatchewan has claimed the Hardy Cup on four occasions (2018, 2021, 2022, 2025).

Flory has also led the Huskies to success on the national stage with three bowl game wins and a trio of Vanier Cup appearances (2021, 2022, 2025).

Since taking over as head coach, he has produced 53 Canada West All-Stars, 13 Canada West major Award Winners, 24 U SPORTS All-Canadians, Four U SPORTS Major Award Winners, and 23 CFL Draft picks.

Before he was named head coach, Flory spent three seasons (2014-16) as an offensive assistant under head coach Brian Towriss. During this time the Huskie offence saw impressive success, averaging 30+ points and 400+ yards of offence per game in each season as one of the most productive teams in Canada West.

It was also at this time that the Huskies produced two 2,000-yard passers (Drew Burko - 2,665 & Kyle Siemens - 2,241), two 600-yard rushers (Tyler Chow - 638 & 861), and one 1,000-yard receiver (Mitch Hillis - 1,331).

Before beginning his career on the sidelines, Flory thrived as a member of the Montreal Alouettes offensive line in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for 15 seasons.

After being selected by the Alouettes 15th overall in the third round of the 1998 CFL Draft, he helped Montreal win three Grey Cup titles (2002, 2009, 2010) and piled up plenty of individual accolades. He was named a East All-Star in 11 consecutive seasons from 2002 to 2012 and was selected as a CFL All-Star in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012. He was also awarded the CFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Linemen Award twice in 2008 and 2009.

Suiting up in 241 career regular season games and 17 more in the playoffs during his tenure, he helped the Alouettes turn into one of the most productive offences in CFL history and a perennial Grey Cup contender. The team reached the Grey Cup eight times in his 15 seasons and celebrated three championships.

Upon retiring as a player, Flory became the president of the CFL Players Association.

In 2018, he was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, becoming just the second University of Saskatchewan alumni to enter as a player.

A Regina native, Flory was a member of the Saskatchewan Huskies Football program as a player from 1994 to 1998.

During his time playing at Griffiths Stadium, he helped the Huskies capture three Hardy Cup titles (1994, 1996, 1998) and two of the program’s three Vanier CUp Championships (1996 & 1998). Individually he was named a Canada West All-Star three times (1996, 1997, 1998) and twice earned CIS All-Canadian honours (1997 & 1998).

Sportsnet ranked Flory No. 28 on the list of the 50 all-time greatest Canadian university players.
