"Coming from the university of Winnipeg I’ve played again see the huskies numerous times and always thought they were one of the tougher opponents. The way that every year I’d play against them and they got to tougher to play against shows how hardworking and focused the team and coaching staff is on improving and that really drew me to become a Huskie. I’m very excited to be part of this team, and hopefully we can secure a spot at nationals this year!"
- Tia Lecox
"As a transfer from Winnipeg, Tia brings maturity and a familiarity with the competitive level of the conference and will add depth to our midfield unit. She is an attacking-minded player but also joins the program as a hard-working and humble person who does all of the little things behind the scenes well."
- HC Jerson Barandica-Hamilton
“I knew the Huskies were the right fit for me because of the emphasis put on team culture, pursuit of excellence, and promoting a growth mindset both on and off the pitch. I believe that the huskies women’s soccer team has historically been perceived as the underdogs in CanWest. Going into my rookie season, I hope to make an impact and play a role in overcoming that misconception. The pack is hungry to win this season and so am I.”
- Danielle Lehmann
"Adding more family ties to the program is always exciting. Danielle is a winner and standout competitor who comes from a great program in Canada. While she is familiar with the program, she is motivated to come in and create her own path. She is another player who has the ability to play multiple positions for us and adds depth and versatility to our attack abd midfield core."
- HC Jerson Barandica-Hamilton
"I chose the huskies because of the coaching staff and program values. Coming from a junior college, I was looking for a program that pushed me to become a better player on the field as well as a better human off the field. You can feel the passion the coaching staff has for this sport as well as the love this team has for their community. Going into this season, I’m excited to play alongside this powerful group of women and be apart of a program that is constantly leveling up, working towards winning the national championship."
- Emily Marriott
"Emily joins the program from the US as a Canadian transfer. She is a very composed, athletic player with a great ability to keep possession and connect with teammates. She also brings some maturity to the lockeroom and we have really liked her level of competitiveness in training."
- HC Jerson Barandica-Hamilton
"Since I was a little girl, the Huskies Women’s Soccer program is a place I aspired to be. Being able to go from watching their games in the stands to being a part of the process as a team member is an honour, and they have welcomed me, as well as the other rookies, with open arms. The Huskies have a unique program, building something special in the soccer community, and creating a professional environment for both coaches and athletes. I chose the Huskies because this group has inspired me throughout my youth soccer career, and I am beyond excited to work alongside such an amazing group of people."
- Caedy Smith
"We are very excited to add a former Junior Huskie to the program this year. Caedy is very familiar with the program, she knows our style of play, the standards we have both on and off the field, and what it means to be a Huskie. She has continued to grow year after year and has the ability to impact the team as a midfielder. We know what we are getting with Caedy and are very excited for what she brings as a leader."
