Jerson Barandica-Hamilton became the eighth head coach in women's soccer program history in 2014, after serving as an assistant coach for the Huskies men’s soccer team in 2012. Following the Huskies first trip to the national championship in program history, Barandica-Hamilton was named the first-ever full-time head coach in team history in 2017.
Named Canada West Coach of the Year in 2015-16, Barandica-Hamilton has led the Huskies to the playoffs in each of his seasons at the helm, highlighted by a Canada West bronze and national championship appearance in 2016-17.
Barandica-Hamilton's marks of 68 regular season wins and ten Canada West playoff victories are both program records.
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, the University of Saskatchewan engineering graduate spent five seasons playing for the Huskies from 2007-2011. In his U SPORTS career, Barandica-Hamilton was named the Canada West MVP in 2011, was a conference all-star three times and represented Canada at the Summer Universiade twice. He tops the conference all-time lists in games played, goals and points and holds Huskie records in goals, assists, points, shots and games played. He won the Huskie Athletics Rookie of the Year award in 2007 and the Huskie Athletics Male Athlete of the Year award in 2011.
