Biography

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Sept. 9, 2022):
Payton Izsak made her presence felt as the Huskie women's soccer captain notched one goal off a free kick outside of the Regina Cougars penalty area last weekend. The Prince Albert product continues to impress in Green and White as she led the Huskies to a draw in the inaugural game of the U Prairie Challenge. 

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Sept. 21, 2021):
Izsak was instrumental in the Huskies six-point weekend, registering a goal and two assists during the two matches. The Prince Albert, Sask. native found the back of the net in the 86th minute on Saturday night, sealing the sweep for Saskatchewan.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Sept 30, 2019):
Second-year forward Payton Izsak caught fire last weekend, leading the way offensively for the Huskies as they picked up one win and one tie at home. Izsak, a member of the 2018 Canada West All-Rookie Team, scored two goals and added an assist in a dominant 6-1 victory over Winnipeg on Saturday. The second-year Huskie scored goals one and three and assisted on the second, giving her three points in the first half. The kinesiology student then added an assist in a 2-2 tie with Manitoba on Sunday, earning her a career-high four points on the weekend.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Oct 30, 2018):
University of Saskatchewan forward Payton Izsak was dominant over the weekend helping the Huskies to an upset in the Canada West playoffs before a close loss in the quarter-finals. The rookie from Prince Albert, SK tallied two goals, five shots and played 179 minutes over the weekend. In Friday's 2-0 upset win over the Victoria Vikes, the Kinesiology student scored both goals including one on a great individual effort. A night later in a 2-1 loss to the Prairie Division champion Calgary Dinos, Izsak had two shots on goal and was a threatening presence all game long.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Sept 24, 2018):
University of Saskatchewan midfielder Payton Izsak continued to impress in her first season of Canada West action last weekend. The midfielder from Prince Albert, SK played in 135 minutes of the Huskies’ losses against the Alberta Pandas (2-1) and Mount Royal Cougars (3-0). Izsak scored the lone goal of the weekend for the Huskies with a beautiful diving header on Saturday and was a force in the midfield all weekend long, breaking down opposition attacks and creating opportunities for the Huskies.
