SASKATOON, Sask. - For the second consecutive year, the top 106 Canadian University football players who are eligible for next year's CFL Draft will descend on Waterloo, Ontario, for the 2025 U SPORTS East-West Bowl. The event offers a minimum of three players in their third or fourth years of eligibility from the 27 U SPORTS programs the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of coaches, general managers, and personnel from the Canadian Football League.
A total of four student-athletes from the University of Saskatchewan (USask) football program will take part in this year's game. Representing the Huskies on the Team West offence are quarterback
Anton Amundrud and 2024 Canada West All-Star offensive lineman
Jack Warrack, while defenisve lineman
Charlie Parks and
Nathan Jule will represent the Dogs on the opposite side of the ball. The Huskies will also be represented on the sidelines, with Mason Nyhus,
who returned to Saskatchewan as Assistant Head Coach and Passing Game Coordinator in December, set to serve as offensive coordinator under Head Coach Michael Faulds.
While Faulds, Head Coach of the Uteck Bowl and Yates Cup Champion Laurier Golden Hawks will lead Team West, Loney Bowl Champion and Bishop's Gaiters Head Coach Cherif Nicolas will guide Team East.
The game is set to kickoff on Saturday, May 10, 2024 at 12:30pm (ET), with this year's game marking the 21st playing of the East-West Bowl. In addition to the all-star game, the event will also feature a CFL Free Agent Camp (Tuesday, May 6), Kids Fun Camp (Wednesday, May 7) and the East-West Bowl Coaches Clinic on May 9 and 10.
