Stingers Late Third Period Goal Sends Dogs to University Cup Bronze Medal Game

OTTAWA, Ont. - The Concordia Stingers erupted for three third-period goals to defeat the Saskatchewan Huskies 3-0 on Saturday, securing a spot in the 2025 BioSteel U SPORTS University Cup championship game.

Julien Anctil broke the deadlock on the power play at 5:10 of the third, converting a feed from Sean Larochelle and Mathieu Bizier. Anctil added an insurance marker at 19:01 before Alexandre Nadeau sealed the win just 17 seconds later.

Goaltender Nikolas Hurtubise stopped all 19 shots he faced for the shutout as Concordia (3-0-0) controlled the pace, outshooting Saskatchewan 30-19.

Saskatchewan (1-2-0) struggled to generate offense and failed to capitalize on four power-play opportunities. Huskies netminder Roddy Ross made 27 saves in the loss.

With the win, Concordia advances to Sunday's championship final, while Saskatchewan will play Toronto Metropolitan for bronze Sunday morning at 11:00 AM local time (9:00 AM Sask time).
